LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Our holiday cottage is close to Camelford which is a wonderful base to explore Cornwall & Devon, with their famous surf, safe sandy beaches, beautiful coves & stunning scenery.

BEACHES

Bossiney Cove is the nearest beach to the Lodge at 7.5 miles.  Trebarwith Strand is a little further out at 8 miles (15 minutes drive). Then there are other numerous superb North Cornwall Beaches, none too far from the Lodge: Approx Drive 18 minutes to Widmouth Bay, Bude 20 minutes, Polzeath beach 30 minutes,  Boscastle 12 minutes   A great beach for surfing with hire of all equipment is Polzeath Beach.

CYCLING

FISHING

There is something for every type of fishing enthusiast in North Cornwall, from sea to fly to coarse fishing. 

GOLF

Bowood Park Golf Course is just five miles away but golfers are simply spoilt for choice with at least six courses within easy reach - come for a week and play a different course each day!   Other courses you may like to visit : Launceston Golf Club, Bude & North Cornwall Golf Club, Trevose Golf and Country Club and St Enodoc Hotel and Golf Club

HORSE RIDING

SURFING AND BOAT TRIPS

Polzeath, Bude, and Widemouth Bay are popular surf locations - and if you're not already a seasoned professional, you can learn how at numerous surf schools with equipment hire.  Wavehunters Surf School in Polzeath  Wavehunters sea Safari in Padstow - recommended by family  members  Bude Surf Experience

WATERSPORTS

Sailing, Paddle Boarding, Water Skiing, Kayaking canoeing, windsurfing and boat hire are available at Rock, scuba diving at Harlyn, nr Padstow and fishing at Crowdy Reservoir, Cornwall Slip and Slide

WALKING

Bodmin/Davidstow Moor, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offers many lovely walks & you can enjoy cliff top trails along the nearby South West coastal path. iWalk Cornwall have 265 in Cornwall, ranging from 2 - 10 miles.  Nearly all of these are circular. Walks can be purchased for £2.99 via their App which guides you around the route using GPS

SKY WATCHING

Bodmin Moor has now been designated an International Dark Sky Reserve.  In the clear night skies with the naked eye, visitors can see, the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy millions of years back in time.

FOR THE MORE ADVENTUROUS 

Kernow Adventure Park  Kernow Adventure Park is Cornwall’s hidden outdoor activity centre. Located in Kessel Quarry, once a successful granite quarry, now Kessel is flooded with spring water, with an assault course, paddle boarding, wake boarding and much more.

The Barn Climbing Wall  Just outside Launceston.  Friendly, social, dedicated climbing facility.  Run by climbers, for climbers and anyone interested in having a go.  Courses and taster sessions indoors, are available.

Try microlight flying at Davidstow Flying Club on Davidstow Moor. or The Adrenalin Quarry near Liskeard - suitable for all ages.

If flying over the Eden Project takes your fancy, try Hangloose at Eden  with an assortment of  zip line packages over the bio-domes; and more.
